I've only ever seen anything like that in movies that are set in medieval times, and even that is pushing things. I've also seen pictures of various royal weddings, both modern and vintage, and crowns like you posted were nowhere to be found at any of them. Come to think of it, UK pornstar/model Jordan (Katie Price) is the only bride I have ever seen in a crown like that but her wedding was way over the top to begin with so it fit what she was going for.

It is definitely not a new style since next to no one is actually wearing them, either in bridal magazines or real life. I wouldn't wear one myself since it's not my style to begin with and a crown doesn't fit the vibe of our wedding either. Crowns like that are pretty much only worn by Miss America.
